Perché saremmo tornati? e perché per un così lungo periodo? e perché sempre d’inverno? e perché proprio Le Coste? Bisogna andarci! Starci un po’ di giorni, anzi molti giorni … Solo così comprenderete a fondo quello che le parole non riescono a definire. E’ la seconda volta che torniamo a Le Coste per l’intero periodo invernale. Sì, proprio Le Coste, perché è quello più lontano, più nel bosco, giù giù in fondo. Perché se cercate la tranquillità allora è il caso che la troviate … e lì c’è. C’è nell’accogliente cucina dove ci si stringe volentieri intorno al tavolo di marmo per una polentata; c’è nella sala e c’è nelle camere da letto con le finestre che danno sulla sconfinata valle … fino ai laghi di Alviano, e c’è – soprattutto – nel salottino dove sprofondare in poltrona davanti al camino e bruciare tra le fiamme i propri pensieri al ritmo dello scoppiettio dei legni … o, semplicemente, con un libro in mano e quattro candele d’atmosfera. E vogliamo parlare del Natale? Delle luminarie o delle luccicanti brinate serali intorno? E degli occasionali fiocchi di neve che non guastano? Delle notti terse di tramontana a guardare le stelle? Certo se vi disturba essere svegliati dal cinguettio dei pettirossi (dai petti piuttosto arancioni che rossi) o dal picchiettio dei picchi mentre « trapanano » i tronchi per procurarsi il rifugio invernale o vi spaventa la presenza in giardino dei daini intenti al pascolo e che, al minimo rumore, scappano via con delicata agilità saltando la recinzione per andare a nascondersi nella macchia … allora non è il posto per voi. No, proprio no! Per noi sì!

Finalmente una settimana fuori dal caldo di Roma, isolati dal caos. Ci è piaciuto tantissimo isolarci in questo casale con tanto verde intorno insieme ad una coppia di nostri amici. Un vero angolo di paradiso! Ottimo punto di partenza per le nostre escursioni durante il giorno. Molto disponibili i padroni di casa che ci hanno consigliato tanti paesini da visitare a pochi km dal nostro casale. Vi suggerisco Civita di Bagnoreggio, Montecchio, Baschi e Orvieto se non ci siete mai stati. Le sere non ci siamo mai fatti sfuggire nemmeno una cena al fresco del giardino, grigliando sulla brace le provviste acquistate nella vicina Castiglione in Teverina: una vera scoperta!!! Una settimana con gli amici all’insegna del relax, silenzio, natura, risate, burraco e buon vino locale!!!

Siamo stati ospiti di Patrizia lo scorso giugno e non ci sono parole per definire la squisita ospitalità e gentilezza. Il posto è meraviglioso, con un panorama mozzafiato, il casale è dotato di ogni comfort, cucina efficiente, è molto bello svegliarsi e fare colazione in giardino con gli uccellini che cinguettano. Mio marito si è scatenato con il barbecue che è accanto alla zona pranzo nella veranda all’aperto. Meravigliose erano le nostre giornate sotto la pergola con vista spettacolare sulla vallata. La casa è arredata con gusto, ha il fascino di una volta e tutto questo ci ha facilitato a vivere una settimana di vero relax. Il casale fa parte dell’azienda agricola “La Polverosa” dove, a 5 minuti di macchina, c’è una grande piscina per gli ospiti dell’agriturismo. E’ molto piacevole al rientro dalle gite nei borghi vicino che consigliamo a tutti (Orvieto, Civita di Bagnoreggio, Lago di Bolsena…) farsi un tuffo e godersi il tramonto con un aperitivo in piscina! Vorremmo ritornare durante l’inverno perché i camini, il panorama pittoresco ed i borghi con le feste di paese (ci hanno detto che ci sono i presepi viventi nel periodo di Natale ed i mercatini!) ci ispirano molto!!! Consigliatissimo!

Bin Filmemacher und brauche manchmal Ferien, die entspannen und trotzdem lebendig sind. Durch einen Tipp wurde ich von Freunden auf diese Ferienhäuser von Signora Patrizia aufmerksam gemacht. Seitdem weiß ich, wo mein Vorzugs-Italien liegt! « Casa nel Borgo » ist ein antikes Herrenhaus, dass in die Aussenmauern einer mittelalterlichen Burganlage eingelassen ist. Somit liegt die Eingangstür zum « Piazza del Borgo » No.1. Durch die Fenster des Ess- und Wohnzimmers hat man hingegen einen einmaligen Ausblick in’s Tibertal. Die ziegelroten Dächer fangen die letzten Sonnenstrahlen der gesamten Gegend auf. Das Örtchen tront auf Tuffstein, zu seinen Füßen hat man in den letzten Jahren einmalige Etruskergrabstädte und Hausmauern gefunden. Tagsüber spannende Ausflüge nach Orvieto, Bagnoregio, Viterbo, ein Tagesausflug nach Rom. Am Pool des Landgutes « La Polverosa », 5 min mit dem Auto entfernt, kann man das Nichts-Tun geniessen. Die Besitzerin Signora Patrizia hat mich mit unglaublicher Freundlichkeit empfangen. Die Ruhe einmalig. Das Herrenhaus eignet sich hervorragend, um zu entschleunigen, schreiben, lesen, kochen, entspannen. Im August – claro! – gibt es im Umkreis ein Fest nach dem anderen. Familien kommen aus den Grossstädten mit Kind und Kegel wieder « nach Hause », es wird bis tief in die Nacht gefeiert. Für frisch Verheiratete, Liebespaare, Familien mit Kindern, Seniorenglück und als Retreat für Gruppen bestens geeignet. Ich war dort, um an einem Film zu arbeiten. Also auch für Kreative, die konzentriertes Arbeiten suchen, sowohl alleine als auch mit Arbeitskollegen, ein echter Geheimtipp. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist für Italien sehr ordentlich. Fünf Sterne!

Nach einer sehr stressigen Zeit haben mein Mann und ich nach einem Ort der Ruhe gesucht und ihn in dem kleinen Häuschen bei Orvieto auch gefunden. Zu aller erst möchten wir die tolle Betreuung durch die Eigentümer-Familie hervorstellen. Schon vor der Anreise wurden alle nötigen Informationen zur Verfügung gestellt: Angefangen von einer brauchbaren Anreisebeschreibung bis zu Ausflugsmöglichkeiten in der Umgebung. Vor Ort hat uns Frau Struempf zu jeder Zeit telefonisch mit tollen Tipps beraten. Ihre Idee, Rom per Bahn von Orvieto aus als Tagestrip zu besuchen, war Gold Wert. Wir haben das Auto in Orvieto am Bahnhof abgestellt und sind für ca. 17€ pro Person und Strecke mit dem Zug innerhalb von 1 Stunde in Rom am Hauptbahnhof angekommen. Hat alles prima geklappt und wir haben den Tag in Rom sehr genossen. Es hat uns im Häuschen so gut gefallen das wir spontan ein paar Tage verlängert haben. Aber jetzt zum Haus. Es liegt wirklich total ruhig auf einer Anhöhe mit einem wunderschönen Blick in das Tal. Es gibt keine Nachbarn rechts und links, das Haus steht vollkommen alleine auf dem Grundstück. Auf der überdachten Terrasse haben wir oft Abends den Tag ausklingen lassen. Schade ist, dass es leider keine Abendsonne hat, die Sonne verschwindet um ca. 17 Uhr hinter dem Haus. In der unteren Etage befindet sich das Schlafzimmer mit einem sehr bequemen Bett. Obwohl das Haus über keine Klimaanlage verfügt, war es Abends nach dem Lüften angenehm kühl. Wir waren im Juli bei ca. 35 Grad dort und haben keine Nacht den Ventilator gebraucht. Vom Eingang aus links ist das kleine Bad. Es ist schon sehr rustikal aber es hat alles funktioniert, der Wasserdruck war gut und es war sauber. Käfer oder sonstige Insekten hatten wir keine im Haus. Im Obergeschoss befindet sich das Wohnzimmer und die Mini-Küche, hier war es schon deutlich wärmer und wir waren froh, dass das Schlafzimmer unten im Erdgeschoss lag. Die Küche ist vielleicht das einzige Manko des Hauses und wer gerne kocht wird sich hier etwas beengt fühlen:-) Bei 2 Personen in der Küche wird es schon « gemütlich » und man steht sich auf den Füssen. Aber um sich ein Frühstück zuzubereiten und Abends etwas Pasta oder Antipasti zu machen reicht es allemal. Gläser, Besteck, Geschirr, Flaschenöffner etc. alles vorhanden. Die perfekte Ferien-Formel für uns!
Ein wirklich tolles Haus, keine Nachbarn weit und breit. Und mitten im Grünen! Totale Ruhe. Nur wir waren laut und haben dabei niemanden gestört – hoffentlich. Das Schwimmbad erfrischend und immer sauber. Jede Menge Kultur in unmittelbarer Nähe. Das ist für uns Italien. Warum hier? Wir haben selten ein so liebevoll eingerichtetes Ferienhaus zu so einem guten Preis gemietet. Dazu sauber und komfortabel.
Kleine Anmerkung: Als Handtuch haben wir die weißen Badehandtücher genommen. Vielleicht sollten Sie farbige Badetücher für das Schwimmbad zur Verfügung stellen.
Alles in Allem: 5 Sterne.
Haben schon für nächstes Jahr gebucht!

Wir haben uns selten so entspannt…
… vier Personen und unser Welsh Terrier „Hero“
Wir bedanken uns für diesen wunderbaren Urlaub in Ihrem hübschen Ferienhaus. Sehr komfortabel und gemütlich. Alle Details sind so schön bedacht, man kann so richtig entspannen. Hero liebte den großen Garten. Wir das Luxus-Schwimmbad mit Aussicht auf die einmalig schöne Landschaft. Der kleine Ort Castiglione in Teverina ist uns so richtig an’s Herz gewachsen. Hier geniest man die italienische Lebensfreude, die uns so gut gefällt.
Vielen Dank auch für die guten Tipps, Frau Marchei. Es war so schön bei Ihnen!

Il meteo ci ha assistito in questa splendida fuga dalla città! Sole, piscina, prato verde rilassante e ciliege ci hanno accolto in un meraviglioso primo pomeriggio. Siamo stati accompagnati dalla Signora Patrizia in questo bel casale, curato e pulito e ci ha dato tutte le informazioni per visitare Civita di Bagnoregio e Orvieto, compreso dove mangiare. La mattina dopo invece di continuare le gite non siamo riusciti a lasciare la piscina dove i bambini si sono divertiti un mondo e abbiamo organizzato un barbecue e mangiato sul prato. La casa è fresca e la notte si dorme benissimo. Dobbiamo ritornare perché un weekend è troppo breve!

Vielen lieben Dank an Frau Marchei für einen wunderbaren Urlaub! Diese verwunschene Ecke zwischen Latium und Umbrien war für uns Italien-Liebhaber genau das Richtige. Jeden Tag ein kleiner Ausflug: nach Orvieto, an den Bolsena-See, in Rom waren wir auch – und es gibt noch so viel zu sehen. Und Sie haben uns so viele gute Tipps gegeben. Dann: totale Entspannung in diesem schönen Garten, die italienische Frühlings-Sonne geniessen und diese Ruhe! Unseren Kindern hat es auch sehr gefallen. Entdeckungsreisen draussen an der frischen Luft – die i-Pads hatten mal Pause ;-). Die gemütlichen Abende in dem hübschen Studio, die nett eingerichteten Zimmer; alles in allem ein Haus wie aus dem Bilderbuch. Wir kommen bald wieder! Einfach nur wunderbar! Riesen Garten (selbst im Herbst haben wir noch im Liegestuhl gesonnt), schöne Zimmer mit tollem Ausblick, open-space- Küche, gemütliche Kamin-Athmosphäre. Ein grosses Haus nur für uns, nett eingerichtet und inmitten von NO-WHERE. Grün, grün, grün. Selten haben wir uns so gut erholt. Zwar kein deutsches Fernsehen aber das hatte eine fast befreiende Wirkung ;-). Castiglione in Teverina (ca. 3km) ist ein sehr netter, kleiner Ort. Sehr zu empfehlen die Trüffel-Würste beim Metzger auf der Piazza. In Orvieto waren wir in einer Woche drei mal: der Dom natürlich einmalig, das unterirdische Orvieto, beeindruckend, Aperetivo im Palazzo del Gusto ein Muss! Der Verwalter Michele ist nicht wirklich italienisch, organisiert aber alles und prompt. Signora Marchei hat uns sehr nett empfangen. Alles in Allem wirklich schöne Ferien. Wir kommen sicher wieder. Es war so wunderschön!
Gefrühstückt haben wir immer im Garten, so herrlich war das Wetter und die überdachte Pergola. Die Kinder flitzten sofort in’s Schwimmbad, noch bevor wir kulturelle Pläne für den Tag machen konnten. Die Ruhe und Abgeschiedenheit hat uns so gut getan, dass wir in einer Woche nur zwei Ausflüge gemacht haben: Orvieto und Cività di Bagnioregio, absolut sehenswert!
In der großen Küche mit toller Atmosphäre haben wir gerne gekocht, im riesigen Kamin sogar gegrillt, er zieht hervorragend! “Morelli” in Castiglione in Teverina hat uns mit den besten Metzger-Waren versorgt (Tipp von Signora Patrizia)
Die Zimmer, sauber, mit toller Aussicht. Die Bäder unter’m Dach waren ein wenig gewöhnungsbedürftig aber auch sauber.
Das Wohnzimmer einmalig. Die Fotos sind perfekt.

We have been in Madonna for 2 weeks the last 2 years. This big old stone house is perfect for both adults and families with small children. Calm, relaxing, well equiped with sun in the pool area before 0900 in the morning. Each morning, the private pool was cleaned before 0800. I strongly recomend this place for a relaxing holiday. ..I will also recomend a beautiful restaurant that are located close to the railway station. The name is Osteria del Grillo and they have beautiful food and service. Reidar Meinstad, Norway

The farmhouse has a lot of charm and is decorated with an eye for detail, which we enjoyed a lot. The house is also very spacious. The region is nice and has a lot to offer. However, it was not entirely what we (two families with young children) expected. First of all, the pool is very nice but is not adjacent to the house and its terrace. You have to go down the driveway for about 200 m before you reach the pool, which is not in direct eyesight of the house. We would have appreciated if this detail would have been mentioned in the add because it is not entirely clear from the pictures. Secondly, the house has no shutters, so the light comes in quite early and during the day it’s hard to keep the house cool (no aircon, which is correctly mentioned by the owners in the add). But we have to add that we stayed there during an exceptionally warm period in August, so maybe it’s better when the temperature is more normal. Thirdly, we regretted that there is no view on the beautiful valley from the terrace or the garden since a few high bushes and trees are blocking the view (of the sunset for example). In sum, we enjoyed our stay, but would not recommend the villa for families with young children.

We are glad to hear you have enjoyed your stay at the Villa, we have spent a lot of time thinking at the little details and we are pleased to know you noticed those efforts! Your suggestion on the high bushes and trees is well taken on board, we will trim them down so there will be unblocked view to the valley, thanks again for pointing this out to us. We are sorry to hear you found the swimming pool to be too far from the house, it is only 60 meters away (not 200) and we have built it there to leave open space to the garden, the bbq and the big dining table. This layout has always been greatly appreciated by the all the families that have stayed with us. The Villa is very characteristic, as most of the period houses in the region has no shutters, the thick walls keep it cool and we believe that most of the house’s charm comes from its original features and architecture. I can assure you that all of the families with children that have stayed in our place in the last 20 years have found it very comfortable and we are proud to say that most of our guests come again over the years. If you are looking for a place to break away from your busy life, just to enjoy some peace and quite – this is the place to go! We have very much enjoyed our time at La Polverosa being simply ideal for a family of 6 (plus grandmother). It is almost like a picture postcard set-up. The house is located on a sunny and quiet site off the road, surrounded by lots of nature, with a wonderful view of the valley and the opposite Sermugnano. It offers enough space for playing and romping (for the kids) and a shady terrace overlooking the surroundings (for the parents and the grandmother). The braai (barbecue facility) is just great. The rooms are gently arranged in country house style, absolutely clean and spacious. The pool area is located about 500-800 metres away (walking distance if you don’t mind the steep slope particularly on your way back). We house is the ideal starting point for daily trips to various places nearby. We highly recommend to go and experience Lake Bolsena – the water is clear and refreshing, the sun set is stunning (particularly if you have dinner at Montefiascone Beach) and the kids just love it. Lago di Vico is equally romantic. If you are into cycling or hiking, the area offers so many things to do … it is so good to see that tourism is being developed sustainably and gently. In brief, we will definitely try and come back again … Baie baie dankie!!!

Nella ricerca di un Casale di campagna per trascorrere due sane settimane di relax vicino a Roma con la mia famiglia ci siamo imbattuti nell’immagini di questo casale e lo abbiamo confermato nel periodo tra giugno e luglio dello scorso anno. Le immagini on line, nonostante siano molto belle, vi confesso che non sono in grado di raccontare la bellezza ed il fascino di questo casale. Abbiamo trascorso due bellissime settimane con le nostre due bambine di 4 e 6 anni, a contatto con la natura e nel puro relax e soprattutto in famiglia, isolati dal caos di Roma. La casa è comodissima ed ha tutti i confort, sia all’interno che all’esterno, con un patio super organizzato per mangiare fuori cucinando al bbq. Oltre a rilassarci in giardino (sempre a piedi nudi sul prato) ed in piscina abbiamo fatto tante escursioni ed avventure con le nostre bambine….tutte molto vicine al Casale: Civita Bagnoregio, la Tenuta del WWF di Alviano, il parco dei mostri di Bomarzo, passeggiate a cavallo, Castiglione in Teverina a pochissimi km anche per la spesa, Orvieto ed tanti paesini vicino dove abbiamo fatto la scorta infinita di prodotti locali come Vino, Olio e formaggi comprati dalle fattorie vicine, dove le nostre piccole hanno potuto prendere in braccio anche un agnellino appena nato e provato a mungere!!!! Un vero e proprio paradiso immerso nella natura e nel silenzio (tutto il giorno senza mai sentire una macchina !!!), con una vista pazzesca ed un accoglienza perfetta sia dai padroni di casca che dai custodi (Michele e Tatiana) che ci hanno aiutato anche nelle piccole richieste per le bambine! Già abbiamo prenotato nuovamente!

« Abbiamo alloggiato nei casali Poggio e Ripa Bianca, entrambi molto accoglienti. Sono più spaziosi di quanto non appaiano in foto. Al nostro arrivo, c’era un albero di Natale addobbato in ogni casa e delle lucine natalizie sul camino. Il guardiano, il signor Michele, è molto cortese e disponibile. Il posto è tranquillo e vicino a vari punti di interesse. Abbiamo visto uno scoiattolo. Torneremo sicuramente. «

« Tranquilité extraordinaire en pleine nature : au bout d’un chemin de terre. Maison de caractère parfaitement rénovée, meublée avec goût. Accès facile à l’autoroute A1 qui facilite les déplacements vers Rome, Sienne, Assise. Belle piscine bien aménagée partagée entre les différentes maisons mais à 2 km de la maison. »

Io e mia moglie abbiamo trascorso una settimana a luglio in questo cottage in pietra posizionato in cima ad una collina con una vista unica, mozzafiato, circondato da piante di ulivo e da un bosco. Una settimana di grande relax in famiglia con i nostri figli, vivendo tante avventure facendo e passeggiate senza prendere la macchina! A piedi attraverso il bosco si raggiunge anche il paesino di Sermugnano. Dalla casa domini tutta la vallata e non avresti mai voglia di andare via anche se intorno, a pochi km, abbiamo scoperto tanti posti interessanti, che non conoscevamo e soprattutto tutti alla portata dei bambini: una bellissima scoperta e ci torniamo sicuramente! Scoperta anche dal punto di vista enogastronomico per me e mia moglie amanti del buon vino e della cucina tradizionale….nella zona ci sono tanti ristoranti con un’ottima cucina ad ottimi prezzi…e anche ottime cantine dove comprare del buon vino da portare a casa. Il patio in giardino lo abbiamo sfruttato tantissimo con i bambini e la sera ….incredibile…abbiamo dovuto indossare un maglioncino per cenare all’esterno….in città saremmo stati con l’aria condizionata!! C’è piaciuta tantissimo la possibilità di portare i ragazzi fuori dalla città per una settimana, lasciandoli liberi in sicurezza intorno casa alla scoperta della natura: abbiamo visto anche delle piccole volpi nel bosco la sera. Un grazie speciale ai proprietari che ci hanno fatto sentire proprio a casa nostra e che ci hanno dato tutte le “dritte” per goderci questa settimana nella Tuscia con i nostri bambini.

Un luogo paradisiaco dove trascorrere una vacanza relax, nel verde e nella tranquillità.A pochi minuti da Orvieto.I proprietari sono gentilissimi e disponibili,così come il custode. L’ampio giardino recintato ha reso la vacanza ancora più piacevole, anche per il nostro amico a quattro zampe! Speriamo di poter essere nuovamente ospiti di questa bellissima struttura!
